  • Granary Arts 86 North Main Street Ephraim, UT, 84627 United States (map)

Granary Arts along with poets Bryn Burningham and David Rosier invite you to join us for An Evening of Poetry Thursday, August 11, 2022 / 7pm. Come listen to original poems by local wordsmiths and enjoy light refreshments.

Bryn Burningham is an artist and poet from central Utah. She has been writing poetry since she was eleven years old. She graduated from Utah State University with a BFA in printmaking and began her art career several years ago as an intern at Granary Arts while earning her AA and AFA from Snow College. She later returned to Granary Arts as the Gallery Manager. As a senior camp counselor, she spent several summers working with teenagers in the central Wasatch mountains. She lives in Sanpete Valley near her family and is a volunteer firefighter in Spring City. Currently, her poems lean to the introspective side, attempting to draw out the poet’s inner world. Her first chapbook of poetry, All I ask is that we walk together a while from Bottlecap Press collects poems on falling in love with people, places, and the absolute. The entirety of her poetry ranges from observations and celebrations of the natural world, to processing life events, and descriptions of personal philosophies among other subject matter. Bryn is passionate about printmaking, sustainability, community, and raising houseplants.

David Rosier was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Sanpete County. He attended grade school in Moroni and graduated from North Sanpete High School in Mount Pleasant. He also attended Snow College, and later from USU, graduating with a specialty in poetry and Shakespeare. Returning to Sanpete County, he worked at Snow College, as an adjunct and then as a professor teaching creative writing, Shakespeare, and poetry courses. He served as English Department Chair and was also faculty advisor to Snow’s literary magazine, Weeds. Rosier continues with both of his professional interests, music and poetry. His works have recently been published in The Lyric, Utah Life, and New Verse News. Rosier’s poems often deal with an observation about nature that applies to people as well.  He lives in Spring City in a small rock house that is a national historic site.

Event is free and open to the public.
