Pottery Workshop: Woven Clay Basket / Tammy Rodeback

Granary Arts invites you to participate in a hands-on pottery workshop taught by artist Tammy Rodeback. Participants will learn the basic techniques needed for hand-building woven clay baskets. In this process, clay is rolled out into slabs, cut into sections, and assembled to form a basket. The baskets will then be bisque fired and returned to participants. This workshop is primarily intended for teens and adults. All skill levels welcome, no prior experience required. All materials will be provided.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Tammy Rodeback has over 20 years of experience working her magic at the potter’s wheel. During this time Tammy has taught classes for the Red Kiln in Sugar House, Utah and at her home studio in Provo, Utah. In the winter of 2006 Tammy helped start the fundraiser Bowls for Humanity for the Food and Care Coalition, an event that raises money for people experiencing homelessness in Utah County. While attending Utah Valley University she co-founded the Ceramics Artist Association, a school-sponsored club for ceramic arts students to gain experience selling their work and to help cover expenses to attend the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Conference. Tami graduated from Utah Valley University with honors in April 2011 earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. stonewarebytami.com
